What services do you offer?

Nail cutting, thickened nail reduction, corn and callus removal, fungal nail maintenance and treatment, diabetic foot check ups, neuro-vascular assessments.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment either through our online booking system or by giving me a call on 07904085584.

How much do you charge?

Appointments are £40.

What Do I Look for in Homes?

What should I expect during my first visit?

I will conduct a neuro-vascular assessment to check the the circulation and sensation in your feet. You will be asked to fill in a medical history and consent to treatment form. I will assess your feet and depending on what is needed will depend on the treatment given, for example if you have thickened nails I will reduce the thickness.

Do you provide home visits?

Yes, I offer a mobile service that covers Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.

What are your operating hours?

I am available for appointments from Monday to Friday, between 9:30 am and 4 pm.

How long is each appointment?

Each appointment is scheduled for a 30-minute slot. Your first consultation may take 45 minutes.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash or Bank transfer are preferable.

Card payment is available however I am charged to accept payment this way, so if you are able to pay via cash or bank transfer I ask kindly that you do so.

Is your service suitable for people with diabetes?

Yes it is very important for people with diabetes to have their feet checked regularly as you can be susceptible to ulcers and infections and early detection is highly important.

However if you already have an infection and/or ulcers on your feet you must contact your GP immediately for a referral to an NHS Podiatrist.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please clean your feet before an appointment.

Do you offer treatments for children?

Yes.

How much do you charge?

Appointments are £40.

Do you offer emergency appointments?

I will do my best to fit people in.

However depending on the type of emergency I may point you to the relevant services be that your GP, 111 or 999.

Do you provide consultations over the phone or virtually?

No consultations must be in person.

Do I need a referral from a general practitioner to book an appointment?

No.

What safety measures are in place due to COVID-19?

I wear a mask, gloves and apron during home visits.

How soon can I expect to see results from the treatments?

You will likely see results from your first appointment, then going forward with regular appointments you will see the results will be maintained.

What areas do you cover for home visits?

Each appointment is scheduled for a 30-minute slot. Your first consultation may take 45 minutes.

Is there a cancellation policy?

Yes I require at least 48 hours notice of a cancellation so that the appointment can be filled by another patient.

I am a small business with a family to take care of so appreciate that this is followed.

Are your treatments covered by insurance?

Yes I have public liability insurance.

What qualifications do you have?

I have a Diploma in Foot Health from the SMAE institute.

Do you offer any specialized treatments for specific foot conditions?

It depends on the condition, please get in touch and we can discuss together.

What should I do after my treatment to maintain foot health?

Check your feet daily. Apply moisturiser once a day. Follow advice provided by myself with regards to footwear and any other specific advice given.

Do you offer gift certificates or vouchers?

Yes.

How far in advance should I book an appointment?

It depends, if you have never had your feet seen then as soon as possible. Or if you are changing Foot Health Practitioner then leave the regular time frame you use, unless you have a concern you need addressing sooner.

Can I reschedule my appointment?

Yes you can, please give as much notice as possible.

Can I book recurring appointments?

Yes. Ideally, depending on the care your feet need, most patients should have ongoing home visits of between 6-8 weeks.

How do you ensure the hygiene and sterilization of your tools?

All of my tools are soaked in boiled water and soap prior to being rinsed off and scrubbed then being placed in an autoclave to be sterilised and then placed in sterile pouches.

Is there a waiting list for appointments?

I have recently opened up two more days a week for appointments so currently there is no wait list.

What is the difference between the initial consultation and follow-up appointments?

Initial consultations usually take longer due to paperwork and neuro-vascular assessments being conducted. Also, depending on the condition of the feet, the treatments usually take longer as the feet haven’t been treated ever or for some time.

What should I do if I'm running late for my appointment?

Please call me asap and please note I may have to reschedule you so as not to disturb the rest of the appointments that day.

How often should I schedule appointments for ongoing foot issues?

It depends on the type of issue and is something we’ll discuss during your consultation.

Is there a limit to the number of issues you can address in one appointment?

Yes, if I can’t address all of the issues in one 30 min appointment due to the severity of the condition of your feet, then we will need to schedule you in for another appointment as close as possible.

What kind of footwear should I wear to my appointment?

Please wear your usual footwear as this helps when assessing your feet and working out what could be causing certain conditions such as corns and calluses.

Do you provide any educational materials for foot care at home?

No I don’t, however I will verbally share I formation that is tailored to your needs.

Can family members book joint appointments?

Yes.
